  17.    I would like to welcome you to CalvaryNet.  For your knowledge,
  18.    Please see the CCPASTOR.TXT file for a listing of Calvary Chapel
  19.    Pastors that have logged on to CalvaryNet thus far.  All files
  20.    referred to in this document refer to the CALV????.ZIP
  21.    information file.  {The Information file for July is called
  22.    CALV0795.ZIP etc}

  24. This is so exciting!! God has been richly blessing the fellowship
  25. on CalvaryNet, and it is growing daily.  Simple put, our main focus
  26. is Fellowship in the Love of Christ and information exchange.  In
  27. addition, CalvaryNet is run by... YOU!  Check information on the
  28. 4HisGlory Conference and text later in this document for further
  29. information on Calvary Pastor and Sysop involvement.

  32.   Network Newsletter, which will list up to date changes and other
  33.   exciting information regarding CalvaryNet.

  35. The structure of CalvaryNet is quite unique.. where the Sysops and
  36. Pastors become involved through input and discussion in the
  37. 4HisGlory Conference.  Here is a breakdown regarding the
  38. Administration of CalvaryNet:

  40. For the History of CalvaryNet, please review the WELCOME.TXT file
  41. located in the CALV####.ZIP file, where the "#" represents the
  42. current month and year.

  84. DESCRIPTIONS of RESPONSIBILITIES:

  87. Administrative Pastor:
  88. ----------------------

  90. The Administrative Pastor of the Calvary Chapel Computer Ministry:
  91. CalvaryNet, is Pastor Ralph Wood of Calvary Chapel Oceanside. The
  92. Administrative Pastor has access to all CalvaryNet message base
  93. communication. Please see the documentation "disclaim.txt" in the
  94. Calvary Information File (CALV????.ZIP).  He is kept current
  95. regarding all aspects of CalvaryNet operations through direct
  96. communication on the Network or by the Network Administrator {John
  97. Scudder}. Through prayer and supplication to our Lord and Saviour
  98. Jesus Christ, the Administrative Pastor directs all operations and
  99. functions of CalvaryNet.  He may allow the Network Administrator to
  100. perform any or all network functions unsupervised at his
  101. discretion.

  103. Network Administrator:
  104. ----------------------

  106. The Network Administrator is under the authority of the Administrative
  107. Pastor.  The Network Administrator and founder of CalvaryNet is John
  108. Scudder, who functions to preserve CalvaryNet for the Glory of God and
  109. a Calvary Chapel Focus in directing all aspects of network business.
  110. While the Network Administrator will heavily review input from other
  111. branches of the CalvaryNet administration, he reserves the right to
  112. direct all network decisions as the Holy Spirit directs him to do
  113. so. The Network Administrator has taken great care in providing a
  114. means for other branches of the CalvaryNet administrative body to
  115. provide their input and concerns.  The Network Administrator will
  116. represent CalvaryNet in all aspects of computer communication and
  117. other aspects as will arise.

  120. CalvaryNet Network Advisors:
  121. ----------------------------
  122. The Network Advisors are not under the authority of any CalvaryNet
  123. Administrative body.  They are Pastors, Sysops, and trusted friends
  124. who provide wisdom as the Lord leads them regarding requests for
  125. such by the Network Administrator, and function to provide direct
  126. support for the Network Administrator.  Their input is prayerfully
  127. considered, and relayed to The Administrative Pastor when
  128. appropriate.  They provide a valuable spiritual support to
  129. CalvaryNet's function and structure.
  130.  
  131. Calvary Chapel BBS Sysops:
  132. --------------------------
  133. Regarding CalvaryNet, the Calvary Chapel BBS Sysops are under the
  134. Authority of the Network Administrator. Regarding their particular
  135. BBS systems, if such are set up to directly represent a Calvary
  136. Chapel Church, they are also under the subjection and authority of
  137. their Senior Pastor or someone that their Pastor has authorized
  138. such position.  Their function is to provide uninterrupted mail
  139. transfer between their relaying BBS for CalvaryNet mail as stated
  140. in the CC-SYSOP documentation.  They are also under agreement to
  141. post the CCPOLICY.TXT file to their users prior to their users
  142. having access to CalvaryNet communication.  When able, they are
  143. responsible for monitoring or assisting the Conference Hosts on
  144. their particular BBS.  They are also responsible for monitoring
  145. CC-ADMIN and 4HisGlory on a consistent basis.  Please see the
  146. CC-SYSOP.TXT file for further Sysop responsibilities.

  148. CalvaryNet Hosts:
  149. -----------------
  150. CalvaryNet Hosts are under the authority of the Network
  151. Administrator as well as the CalvaryNet BBS Sysops.  They are
  152. basically responsible for monitoring and participating in their
  153. chosen CalvaryNet conference according to the CCPOLICY.TXT or
  154. Conference specific guidelines they set up.  Please see the
  155. CC-HOST.TXT file for information regarding CalvaryNet Host
  156. Guidelines.

  159. THE FOCUS OF CALVARYNET:
  160. ------------------------
  161. CalvaryNet focus in the past has been basically a "Fellowship in
  162. the Love of Christ and the exchange of information" oriented.
  163. As CalvaryNet grows, we have been expanding into areas of ministry
  164. outreach, global connections,, teaching Christians and
  165. non-Christians Biblical doctrine and Church beliefs, providing
  166. support for those in need of prayer and Church assistance, and...
  167. possible provision for orientation to future Calvary Chapel based
  168. or community based evangelism.
  169.  
  170. Thus, the "expanded view" of CalvaryNet is to provide a Reach,
  171. Teach, Mend and Send approach as a Calvary Chapel Ministry... while
  172. strictly monitoring all aspects of the network to ensure that
  173. communication adheres to the CCPOLICY.TXT statement in the manner
  174. in which brethren respectfully communicate with each other. Any
  175. opportunity to assist a brother to grow and become involved in
  176. Calvary Chapel Ministries will be greatly encouraged, and receive
  177. support from the CalvaryNet staff.

  179. THE STRUCTURE OF CALVARYNET:
  180. ----------------------------
  181. Then we come down to the nuts and bolts of CalvaryNet.  Great care
  182. has been taken to allow for Pastor and Sysop interaction with the
  183. processes of CalvaryNet.  Although the Administrative Pastor and
  184. Network Administrators will seek to ensure a Calvary Chapel focus
  185. is maintained on CalvaryNet, we do leave ourselves open to input
  186. received from (1) Network "Advisors"; (2) Calvary Chapel Pastors;
  187. and (3) Calvary Chapel relaying Sysops via the 4HisGlory
  188. Conference.
  189.  
  190. As stated earlier, the HOST System for CalvaryNet Mail is The
  191. Shepherd's Flock Family BBS in Oceanside, California.  The HOST
  192. system is the main relay point for all CalvaryNet Mail.. sort of
  193. the Grand Central Station as it were.  The Network Administrator
  194. and Founder of CalvaryNet {John Scudder} will maintain contact with
  195. CalvaryNet's Administrative Pastor (Ralph Wood) and relay all
  196. network concerns for prayer and input... as well as for the
  197. implementation of any network actions the Lord prompts through the
  198. leadership of Pastor Ralph.
  199.  
  200. This happily brings us to the CalvaryNet Information packets. Each
  201. month there is a new CalvaryNet ZIPPED (compressed) file that holds
  202. a lot of info for Computer Users as well as prospective Sysops
  203. regarding CalvaryNet.  This file is in the form of a CALV????.ZIP,
  204. where the ???? stand for the month and year of that particular
  205. information file.  For instance, the file for November 1995 is
  206. CALV1195.ZIP. There is also a CalvaryNet Newsletter within this
  207. information file. You can download this file from any Calvary
  208. Chapel Computer Ministry.
  209.  
  210. The CALV????.ZIP file also contains the important file
  211. CCPOLICY.TXT, which is a ASCII text file outlining the expected
  212. behaviors on the Calvary Chapel Network.. and.. you will find that
  213. these guidelines are also those that are expected behaviors on any
  214. Christian Bulletin Board. We are a little strict here regarding how
  215. the brethren communicate with one another... with the focus and
  216. thrust always in "the love of Christ".
  217.  
  218. As an example... here are the first 4 "Rules of Conduct":
  219.  
  220. 1. Let all your typing give glory to God; in respecting your
  221.    brother, in treating your brother with brotherly love, and in
  222.    your witness as a Child of God, and Ambassador for Christ...
  223.    while communicating on CalvaryNet.
  224.  
  225. 2. Let all bitterness, envy, strife, speaking evil of dignities and
  226.    of government rulers be far from you.  Let backbiting be
  227.    something far from you.  Shine as a light on a hill... and salt
  228.    to savor the minds of each Christian and potential Christian on
  229.    CalvaryNet.
  230.  
  231.    "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
  232.     another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
  233.                        {Ephesians 4:32}

  235. 3. Let all evil communication be far from you.  Don't judge your
  236.    brother as being from the pit of hell... or as being from an
  237.    evil spirit, nor to say evil things to your brothers... be
  238.    kind.. treating your brothers and sisters with the respect you
  239.    would want to be treated.
  240.  
  241. 4. Above all.... love.. and forgive one another... for in doing so
  242.    you show you have great command of the scriptures.. and of
  243.    yourself.
  244.  
  245.   I think you will get the picture {smile}.

  247. IMPORTANT NOTE:
  248.  
  249.  Although the Network Administrator may officially present
  250.  *suggestions* and/or practices on how a Calvary based ministry can
  251.  give Glory to God in all their Ministry service, the CalvaryNet
  252.  Administration will *not* actively nor routinely call each
  253.  Ministry Connected with CalvaryNet (or any other Calvary Chapel
  254.  Ministry) to monitor their process and their actions.. their door
  255.  games or their files, or any other aspect of their Ministry.
  256.  Calvary Chapel has from day one relied on teaching the Bible as a
  257.  means of direction in the lives of others and has left it up to
  258.  the Holy Spirit to change the lives and direction of the Body of
  259.  Christ (church).  The CalvaryNet Administration will however, call
  260.  those CalvaryNet Systems that have submitted an application for
  261.  Network Relay, and will evaluate the Spiritual leading of such a
  262.  ministry at that time of original application submission.  At such
  263.  time, Calvary Chapel Ministries containing questionable and
  264.  inappropriate material will be handled on a case by case basis.
  265.  Any future reference to inappropriate material during the coarse
  266.  of their ministry and connection with CalvaryNet will be also be
  267.  reviewed on a case-by-case basis and be reviewed at that time. It
  268.  is the express view of this ministry to minister in love regarding
  269.  all Network Administrative functions... to teach forgiveness in
  270.  every situation.. and seek to lead others through example and
  271.  Biblical instruction.. to an enhanced and fruitful relationship
  272.  with their Saviour Jesus Christ.

  276.  Calvary Chapels outside America, and... will assist in providing
  277.  information to these pastors with regards to BBS setups, costs,
  278.  and general CalvaryNet information.
